This client wanted to transform their existing patio area, which was originally built with dated crazy paving, side steps, and high-maintenance box hedging. We redesigned the terrace to create a larger, more usable space with improved access and a clean, modern finish. The new layout features front-facing steps and custom balustrades that complement the turning circle at the front of the property.
To ensure longevity and protect the home, the area was built up to a consistent level and fitted with drainage solutions that respect the damp-proof course. The result is a spacious, low-maintenance terrace that beautifully enhances the outdoor living space.
Upgraded to light grey 600x900 porcelain slabs with charcoal flow-point grouting
Custom balustrades and matching stone steps installed for safety and style
Slot drains fitted along the house to protect the damp course and improve water flow

This rear extension on a 1920s property in Newark was designed to create a bright, open kitchen with improved layout and modern functionality.
The original space, including an outdated coal house, was carefully reimagined and incorporated into the new build. From initial structural drawings and steel calculations to construction, interior fitting, and landscaping, Starchelle Construction managed the project from start to finish.
Velux windows were added to maximise natural light, while added insulation ensures year-round comfort. The client selected a Howdens kitchen, which we installed, along with French doors opening out to a newly landscaped patio area for a seamless indoor-outdoor flow.
